To make a 'Two-ColourDesigner Crochet Hat', things that you would need are a crochet needle and yarn
of two colours.
Following are the steps for
the easy Semi-circle patterned, 3 loops crochet stitch--
Let's start with making a basic knot at first.
Roll the yarn on the index finger for the grip on the yarn.
Begin with 3 loops
crochet stitch, knotting in twos, and then
bringing in one loop.
Complete knitting in
rounds the 1st row, then 2nd row and the 3rd row.
Keep knitting the rows
in rounds.
Now we shall start
making the semi-circle pattern from the 4th
row onward.
Count and stitch 8
crochet loops for a semi-circle in every section.
Make a chain knot after
a leap of 3 crochet loops.
Leave 3 more crochet
loops for the next semi-circle.
Make 8 crochet stitches
within one centre.
Complete a round of
semi-circle patterns in the 4th row.
I got 9 semi-circle
stitches in the 4th row.
Tie another colour yarn on the 5th row.
Continue stitching the similar patterns in all the rows.
Keep the crest and
trough vice versa for alternate the colours.
Stitch the single chain
exactly in the centre, i.e., after 4 crochet loops.
Since I got an odd
number of the semi-circle, so I'm
stitching the 9th semi-circle in half
pink and half blue (4 crochet stitches for each colour)
Continue stitching 8
loops semi-circle for the next 4 rows.
Gradually we shall now
increase the size of the Hat.
Stitch 2 chains in each
crest now.
Make 9 crochet loops for
the semi-circle from the 8th row.
Complete knitting in a similar way in all the rounds.
Increase by one crochet
stitch in each semi-circle in every row, i.e., 8 crochet stitches for 2 rows,
then 9 crochet stitches for the next 1 row, then 10 crochet stitches for next 2
rows, 11 crochet stitches for the next 1 row and 12 crochet stitches for next 2
rows with 3 chains in the crest to increase the size of the Hat.
Therefore, after
knitting 17 rounds, we shall now stitch 10 crochet loops from the 18th row till
the end.
Also, follow the number
of crochet loops in the combined semi-circle, where we used half pink and half
blue colours.
Continue knitting 10
crochet loops in each semi-circle and 5 pinks,
5 blue in the combined semi-circle.
Measure the Hat with the
model's head at intervals to get the exact size of the Hat.
We shall finish the last
two rows with the same colour, with a
single chain at the centre of the crest.
In the last semi-circle,
pull the loop from behind and tie both the yarns tightly together.
Lastly, make a pom-pom for the top of the Hat.
Tie the pom-pom with the
hat and your beautiful two-colour woollen
crochet hat is ready to be worn for the Winters.
