Noodles are something, that is the most loved food recipes by all of us. It is prepared in a variety of ways in different parts of the world. Soya Chunks Chowmein is basically a Soya Chunks based Hakka noodles. Noodles recipes do not need any introduction or method of instructions as these are the staple food of many Asian countries and are very famous across the globe. However, what's a better way to give your favorite meal a healthy and nutritious combo at the same time? So today I would just like to share my version of the Soya Chunks Chowmein with a desi touch in my recipe. I love the indo-Chinese combination of recipes, and my family is very fond of desi Hakka noodles especially on the weekends.

Soya Chunks Chowmein is prepared with a lot of vegetables and different types of sauces added to it. There are several variations to this simple veg noodles recipes, it is mainly the Chinese noodles which can be either prepared from just vegetables or with the combination of meat, and eggs. The Soya Chunks, when spiced up with the sauces, brings out a meaty flavor to the noodles recipe.

Soya Chunks Chowmein like any other Indo Chinese recipes is very similar to the veg noodles that is very popular food typically consumed for lunch or dinner.
I have kept the Soya Chunks Chowmein recipe very simple keeping the basic ingredients intact, hence this can be the easiest one out of all the noodles recipes unlike the veg Hakka noodles and Szechwan noodles. I have added multifarious colorful winter vegetables, and you can add up some more veggies of your choice. I have always been a huge fan of the Indo Chinese recipe combos and usually, I like to pack them for my lunch box.

Tips: After boiling the noodles it is important to cool them completely by spreading in a large vessel so that while tossing with veggies it should not give a stickiness to the dish.

Measuring Items: 1 cup= 150 ml; Teaspoon

Ingredients:
  1. Noodles- 100 grams
  2. Soya Chunks- 1 cup
  3. Green Peas- 1 cup
  4. Carrot- 1
  5. French Beans- 10
  6. Capsicum- 1
  7. Onion- 1 large
  8. Green Chili- 3
  9. Garlic- 6 cloves
  10. Scallions- 3 stalks
Spices:
  1. Vinegar- 2 Tsp
  2. Red Mirchi powder- 1 Tsp
  3. Salt- 2.5 Tsp
  4. Soya sauce- 2 Tsp
  5. Tomato sauce- 4 Tsp
  6. Chili sauce- 2 Tsp
  7. White vinegar- 1 tsp
  8. Vegetable oil- half cup
Method:
How to prepare ‘Soya Chunks Chowmein’ with step by step pictures and instructions-
  1. Soak the Soya Chunks in hot boiling water for 10 minutes.

  2. And in another pan boil water for the noodles. Boil the noodles for 5 minutes and leave it for 2 minutes in hot water.
  3. In the meanwhile, chop the required vegetables and keep them aside.
  4. Drain water from the noodles, spread on a large vessel and sprinkle 1 tsp salt and 2 tsp oil. Toss the noodles slightly and keep aside.
  5. Now drain the water from soya chunks and squeeze them within your palms to remove excess water, and keep them aside.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan, start adding the sliced onions, green chili, garlic, saute for 1 minute.
  7. Then keep adding the vegetables like beans, carrot, capsicum, green peas. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the boiled soya chunks with 1 tsp red Mirchi powder, 2 tsp tomato sauce, 2 tsp soy sauce and chili sauce. Mix them well.
  9. Now add the noodles, along with 2 tsp more of tomato sauce, 1 tsp vinegar, and 1 tsp salt. Toss them until the noodles get along with the sauces and vegetables.
  10. Finally add chopped scallions, mix with the noodles and serve hot.
